Cody Responds to Justin Bieber Defending Him On The Radio
When Justin Bieber did an interview with a recent radio show called JohnJay & Rich, they asked Justin about his upcoming album “Believe“. They asked Justin if Cody was going to be on the album (which he’s not, anyways) and were asking why they would have Cody on the album, and laughing and making a joke about it. You would think that a grown-men like him would know better than to disrespect people. Being his amazing self, Justin quickly defended Cody in telling them to be nice and saying that Cody is a talented kid. Watch the video below to listen to the whole thing for yourself.
Thank you, Justin, for having our favorite Aussie’s back. We know Cody appreciates it, and we know Cody would do the same for you! Justin didn’t HAVE to defend Cody, he could have just answered their question right away, but instead he defended one of his friends and a fellow artist. So much respect to Justin for doing this. Hopefully now people will understand that it’s not a competition at all, as they each have tried to explain in the past, and they’re close friends and have each other’s backs.
Yesterday Cody attended the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2012 in Los Angeles, California at the Galen Center. Alli was also there, and they both took one of their close friends from back home in Australia. Cody took his friend Toby, and Alli took Sophie. They all looked so good from all the photos they put on their Instagram’s! Anyways, if you missed it, Cody presented Katy Perry’s performance along with Jennette McCurdy, who won for favorite TV sidekick. I did my best to look for the best videos of when Cody was there, so you can see them below. To see better quality ones, CLICK HERE to watch them from the KCA site. I have added 50+ HQ photos of Cody from the night. Cody looked amazing! Can’t believe how grown-up he looks. Loving his hair!
Also, to clear up some confusion. Cody was nominated for “Favourite Aussie Superstar” for the Australian Kids’ Choice Awards. The AKCA’s are tonight on Nickelodeon in Australia, but Cody’s award will only be presented during the AKCA’s. And guess what… CODY WON! So congrats, Cody!! Next year we’ll get him to win the American KCA’s.
Yesterday Cody and Alli attended The Hunger Games premiere in Los Angeles, California. There are a few videos I found of him on the carpet, and TONS of photos of them both! Check them out below.
Cody Simpson has a huge year ahead of him. His next single is dropping next week. ‘Hop’, featuring Cody’s cover of the famous “I Want Candy” hits shelves later this month. His next album is due later this year, and he’s all lined up to tour withBig Time Rush in the summer! Fanlala got to chat with the young singer. Find out what he had to tell us!
Fanlala: You’ve got a single set to drop next week featuring you and rapper T-Pain, can you tell us about the feel of the song?
CS: I’m very excited, it’s a little more mature compared to the things that I’ve done in the past, but the fans are still going to love it. I’ve been working on the song over the course of the year, and I can’t wait to drop my full length album ‘Paradise’, I’m very excited. I’m actually exploring the world of dubstep right now.
F: You’re like the Easter Bunny of toy stores, leaving your signature on Cody dolls for kids to find. Do you just walk up to the front register and ask if you can sign Cody merchandise?
CS: Actually I really don’t ask, I usually just go in an sign. Usually no one really sees me. There was this one time this worker saw. I thought I was in trouble, and I just held up the doll and awkwardly said “Oh… hi… this is me.” It was a really funny experience. Afterwards I usually tweet about the store and let my fans know where I was and where they can pick up some newly signed dolls.
F: Everyone knows “I Want Candy”, it’s a time honored classic. It’s been covered by some big names in the past. How did it feel to be chosen to perform the song for ‘Hop’?
CS: It was incredible. When they approached me, I was just like wow. I always put a lot of pressure on my music and myself in general. There was a lot of pressure and expectations with the song. But when I sent it in, Universal loved it and fell in love with it. It was very exciting.
F: Having recorded a song for the movie, why would you recommend families check out ‘Hop’ this spring?
CS: I think they did an incredible job, it’s a genius idea for a movie. I was so pleased to be part of such an incredible and successful Easter movie. I saw it with my friends and family in theaters. It’s definitely a movie that everyone can enjoy.
F: Being an artist, everyone wants to know what you have playing on your playlist. Can you tell us what your top three songs are right now?
CS: Right now I would have to say “Beautiful People” by Chris Brown, “From the Clouds” by Jack Johnson, and “It Don’t Matter” by Donavon Frankenreiter
F: Every week, we run an app article. Is there an app on your phone or mobile device that has helped you out lately?
CS: There’s this app called Around Me. It’s great to have when you’re out and about. You just type in what you want, and it helps you locate what you need around.
Australian pop star Cody Simpson is making waves in the US, to the delight of teen girls everywhere! In our Celebrity Mailbag series, Celebuzz let’s YOU ask the questions — and you did. Now, Cody answers in this exclusive video!
BOP & Tiger Beat hung out with Cody during his photoshoot to ask him tons of different questions about what he looks for in girls, favorite looks, if he’s a fan of their makeup, and more! Check out the video below.
One of the highlights of working in Los Angeles is getting to attend the G’Day USA Black Tie Gala to catch up with all the other Aussies who are making it big in America — and this year our favourite teen Cody Simpson was one of the performers!
We caught up with Cody on the red carpet, and chatted about his performance, his love for Miranda Kerr and why he wanted to meet Simon Baker.
Plus he busted all those dating rumours, confirming yet again that he is 100% single!
Cody told thehothits.com, “I’m pretty much dating my music right now. Every time I’m seen in public with a girl everyone likes to assume that we’re dating, and according to the media I’ve had like four girlfriends in the last month. It’s crazy.”
On our New Year’s Resolutions list: 1.) Say ‘hi’ to our crush. 2.) Learn how to be super confident. 3.) Become a rockstar.
Luckily, we pretty much crossed off everything already since we talked to Cody Simpson! That’s right, the Aussie singer who has us saying iYiYi chatted with us about music, surviving awkward moments and most importantly how to rock.
How To Rock: What song do you listen to right before something big (like a concert, date, etc.)? Cody Simpson: I like to listen to a lot of Drake’s music before I perform. I love his music and it helps get me pumped up before I head out onto the stage.
HTR: What advice do you have for those who want to be a rock star like you? CS: Never let anyone bring you down. If you really want something, keep working at it and never give up. There are always going to be people telling you, “You can’t do it.” I had plenty of people say it to me, but I didn’t let it stop me. Surround yourself with creative and talented people as well. You’ll be able to learn a ton from them, and they’ll help you grow into the musician you want to be.
HTR: What is a typical day like for you? CS: I usually start my day off by going to the gym, and then I’ll spend a couple of hours doing school work and studying. By then it’s probably around noon and the rest of my afternoon, I’ll spend working on my music, whether it’s going to the studio to record and write new material or doing interviews and photo shoots. All that stuff can take a long time, so afterwards I usually head home to have dinner with my family and relax for the evening.
HTR: What’s the most awkward moment you’ve had so far? CS: Honestly I haven’t had too many awkward moments, or at least it’s been so long since that last one that I’ve already forgotten it!
HTR: What’s your secret confidence trick? CS: When I’m on stage, I really feed off the crowd’s energy. If the audience is super excited and into the performance, it definitely boosts my confidence.
